EJSE announce Front Office for 2019-2020 campaign

The Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles (previously known as the Binghamton Junior Senators) have announced their Front Office members for the 2019-2020 season:

General Manager: Ray Welsh

Head Coach: Trevor Simonson

Director of Hockey Operations: Anthony Langevin

Assistant Coach: Henri Langevin

Trevor Simonson served as an Assistant Coach last season and has been promoted to Head Coach for the 2019-2020 season. ┬áLast season, he lead the U16 AAA team to a 23-11-5 record as well as capturing 2 Championships at various showcases. This year his focus will be on the Junior A team and managing the special teams as well as assisting in recruiting. “Trevor did a great job with our U16 AAA team last season,” Langevin was quoted saying “His determination to improve each of his players shows in everything he does for them. We are excited to have his efforts focus solely on the Junior A team this season.”

Anthony Langevin will take over as Director of Hockey Operations in Elmira. In his first season, he served as Head Coach, and accumulated a 45-8-0 record, which included a 2nd place finish in the entire NA3HL out of 36 teams from around the country. He was nominated to coach at the Top Prospects Showcase, as well. The team won the Northeast Division Regular Season and Playoff titles in convincing style. “The recruiting season has gone extremely well so far,” Langevin was quoted saying. “Trevor, Ray, Henri, and I have been hard at work on bringing home a National Championship to Elmira for the 2019-2020 season. Hard work and determination from our staff will put our guys in the best spot to win it all. In addition, we move on our guys to College Hockey and the North American Hockey League. In our eyes, it’s simple. We have a proven track record and can’t wait to continue the dynasty Ray started and turn it into a National Championship run.”

Henri Langevin will serve as an Assistant Coach, again, this upcoming season. Last season, he lead the U10 AAA team to an impressive 19-9-2 overall record as well as capturing the London, Ontario AAU Showcase in the top division. Before coaching with the program, he coached with the CD Selects/Troy-Albany Titans U18 AAA program out of the Albany, NY area. “Henri’s been instrumental in recruiting this season,” Langevin said. “He brings much valuable input to the team and program as well as his recruiting connections with experienced coaches and players.”

Ray Welsh will be back as the General Manager for the team. Welsh has served as the General Manager for the program for the past 6 seasons. Welsh has had a winning season with the program for 5 of the last 6 seasons, as well as competing for a National Championship in 4 of them. “Ray has been a great mentor to me and our coaches,” Langevin said. “His recruiting connections and successful teams is a testament to his dedication for whatever team he works with. ┬áHe will also handle day-to-day operations for the program. We are very fortunate to have Ray on our staff, once again.”
